MIII-LES … YOU SUCK!
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Franchise Re-Named “MIII-LES…YOU SUCK!” in Extension of Successful Brand from MTM 6.0 Fantasy Baseball League
Palatini Buys Out Minority Owners and Nationally-Recognized Salumeria Salume Beddu
“We believe this is a message our fan base will rally around.” – Palatini
STAMFORD, Conn. — Pending approval of Bobcats4Ever Commissioner and Small-Town Americans Owner Kyle Brennan, HOW BOUT DAT SALAMI?! majority owner and GM Jamie Palatini has bought out minority owner Salume Beddu, and has re-named the franchise “MIII-LES…YOU SUCK!,” it was announced today.
Beginning today, and in subsequent promotional materials and releases hereafter, the franchise will be re-branded as MIII-LES…YOU SUCK! The team name extends the successful MIII-LES…YOU SUCK brand that has established itself in the MTM 6.0 fantasy baseball league this season, where the aforementioned Miles McQuiggan currently boasts a 117-179-46 record (.409 win pct.) with his Deacon Blues squad, solidly entrenched in 12th place of the 12-team league. Last season, Miles placed ninth or worse in four of his six fantasy leagues.
Per Yahoo! records dating back to 2008, McQuiggan has won two of his 39 leagues in baseball, football and hockey. The self-proclaimed Swamp Yankee last won a title in the 2009 eight-team MTM’s NL-only League, where he brandished the moniker “Frankie Says Relax,” presumably in reverence to the 1983 Frankie Goes To Hollywood hit song, “Relax.”
“This is a brand, a mentality, a movement that really continues to grow,” Palatini said. “With his consistently poor showings across all fantasy sports, and a strong following amongst the Bobcats4Ever league and Quinnipiac community at large, as well as the synergistic benefits with the team of the same name in MTM 6.0, it’s a win-win…something Miles wouldn’t understand. In addition, we think the juxtaposition of our team name with our franchise’s history of success will pay off in spades.”
“I applaud the decision Mr. Palatini has made to align his fantasy sports profile under one franchise name,” Brennan said. “It’s easy to see that this league’s most successful clubs have crafted a single identity and stuck with them, while our less successful teams wander somewhat aimlessly and often change their names multiple times a week. Our league looks forward to seeing the MIII-LES … YOU SUCK! name for years to come.”
Last year, Forbes recognized the formerly-named HOW BOUT DAT SALAMI?! franchise as the most-valuable franchise in the B4E league, generating a league-high $192 of revenue over two seasons. The team holds league records in most single-season wins (13; 2013), most regular-season wins (11; 2013), most single-season transactions (48; 2014), and earned the Bobcats4Ever title in the league’s inaugural 2013 season.
