You’ve Been Chopped owner frustrated with star QB’s performance and ‘Hollywood persona’

NEW YORK — After a 2-0 start, including a dominating performance over Second Floor Shits in Week 2, one would think all would be well in the Food Network Football, Inc. universe.

Not so, according to Chairman and CEO Andrew Fletcher, who also serves as owner and general manager of the You’ve Been Chopped franchise.

In an exclusive, Fletcher repeated voiced his frustrations with quarterback Andrew Luck and his four-turnover performance Monday night, including three interceptions.

“I’m starting to get sick of his Hollywood persona,” Fletcher said, referring to Luck’s appearance in DIRECTV commercials. “He needs to focus on football. We’ll only go as far as he can take us.”

Luck has five interceptions and three touchdowns through two weeks, well off his pace of 40 touchdowns last season.

Despite outscoring Lenny Neslin’s Second Floor Shits by more than 46 points, Fletcher’s team left 15 points on the table in the form of turnovers – 11 by Luck and four by running back Jamaal Charles. These points had no affect on the Week 2 leaderboard, as Mealz on Wheelz scored nearly 160, but Fletcher was still unhappy.

“We can’t be complacent,” he said. “We can’t lose the turnover battle. We must protect the ball.”

Fletcher, surprisingly, did have some positive remarks. He noted how well wide receiver Julian Edelman has played thus far and also praised the play of backup quarterback Andy Dalton.

“I hope that lights a fire under Luck,” he said. “I know they usually say, ‘If you have two quarterbacks, you have none.’ Well, I disagree with that. Dalton will get playing time is he outperforms Luck, mark my words.”

Luck is protected to score just shy of 22 points against the Tennessee Titans. You’ve Been Chopped will face Team Spillzzzzzzzzzz in Week 3 action, kicking off tomorrow night at 8:30 p.m. ET.

Unprecedented league activity paces typically dormant off-season period

NEW YORK — One thing I’ve learned since covering the Bobcats4Ever Fantasy Football League is to expect the unexpected. Commissioner Kyle Brennan has encouraged his owners to think about their teams all year long.

And boy did they ever.

I was out of the country on a personal journey during the month of February. It was a very rewarding life experience and I’m thankful my new employer allowed me to pursue it. But opening up my email upon my return and seeing league release after release was rewarding in its own right. The league is full of 12 passionate owners and to cover this league takes a special kind of reporter. Let’s jump right into some of the news and notes we missed last month.

Where is Thanks Obama’s GM?

BY TMZ STAFF

After a pitiful showing in the 2015 season, the general manager of Thanks Obama! has seemingly gone into hibernation.

A 3-10 showing made fans, players and front office executives burrow their heads in their hands, their GM has not been heard from in months.

Team owner Andrew Vazzano is thinking about chucking his GM aside — if he can ever find him.

“He’s gone … He’s just gone,” Vazzano told TMZ after we ambushed him outside his home in Verona, N.J.

Invitation accepted Wednesday night following overture from Owner McQuiggan

NEW YORK — Bobcats4Ever is now whole again.

Ted Sellers officially accepted an invitation to join the fantasy football league, Commissioner Kyle Brennan announced Wednesday night. Sellers was immediately invited to the league’s official Facebook group chat and will be included in all league communications moving forward.

“There was a reason that Ted had near-unanimous support for his invitation to the league at our owners meeting, and it’s because Ted is a stand-up guy,” Brennan said.

Owners voted to extend an invitation to Sellers during the league’s owners meetings held in Hamden, Conn., nearly two weeks ago.

Eisenberg Assessed Draft Penalty, Will Appeal Decision

SPECIAL TO THE DAILY NEWS

Decision rendered at last night’s owners meeting

HAMDEN, Conn. — In a “fascinating” turn of events, Mr. McGibblets Owner and GM Matt Eisenberg was assessed a draft penalty during last night’s owners meeting by unanimous vote.

Stemming from his controversial practice of colluding with two owners during his November firesale, Bobcats4Ever owners voted to strip Eisenberg of his sixth-overall draft pick in this summer’s draft.

“I figured some of the ownership wanted to give Eisenberg a hard time and make him a little nervous during the penalty phase, but I didn’t actually think they’d vote to penalize him for tampering,” Bobcats4Ever Commissioner Kyle Brennan said.
