Invitation accepted Wednesday night following overture from Owner McQuiggan
NEW YORK — Bobcats4Ever is now whole again.
Ted Sellers officially accepted an invitation to join the fantasy football league, Commissioner Kyle Brennan announced Wednesday night. Sellers was immediately invited to the league’s official Facebook group chat and will be included in all league communications moving forward.
“There was a reason that Ted had near-unanimous support for his invitation to the league at our owners meeting, and it’s because Ted is a stand-up guy,” Brennan said.
Owners voted to extend an invitation to Sellers during the league’s owners meetings held in Hamden, Conn., nearly two weeks ago.
“I’ll make sure the PSI pressure in my tires is always within the league’s legal limit,” Sellers said after accepting his spot as the league’s newest owner.
Sellers inherits the BAHGAWD franchise, most recently run by Michael Auletta. Despite a 7-6 record and a playoff appearance, Auletta did not participate in league activities and paid his league dues after the regular season ended. He was not invited back for the 2015 season.
Brennan emphasized the importance of remaining an active member of the league.
“We wanted an owner who would make contributions to the group chat as well as contributions to the competitive balance to the league, and we’re sure that we’ve found him in Ted,” he said. “We look forward to a long and fruitful relationship with Ted and the club he’s able to build.”
Deacon Blues Owner and GM Miles McQuiggan formally contacted Sellers around 9:05 p.m. Wednesday.
“Ted Sellers is a tremendous addition to our league,” he said. “Having a consistent 12th owner has been a priority for many of the other owners, including myself. Ted will provide stability to the league, while serving as a massive upgrade over the previous 12th owner.”
Sellers’s team features 2014 keepers A.J. Green and Cam Newton, as well as Marshawn Lynch, Rob Gronkowski and Matthew Stafford.
Eisenberg Pays Up
In other league news, Mr. McGibblets Owner and GM Matt Eisenberg finally paid back Cutthroat Kitchen Owner and GM Andrew Fletcher and Second Floor Shits Owner and GM Lenny Neslin. Eisenberg owned both owners $20 each after dining at Hamden’s Side Street Grille on Jan. 10.
“I’m just glad I don’t have to break his kneecaps,” Fletcher said.
Eisenberg claimed his debit card was in a secondary wallet that was not on his person that afternoon and thus could not withdraw cash from the ATM.
