You’ve Been Chopped Earns First Championship

Fletcher Joins Palatini, Brennan as Top Owners in League History

Fans to Vote for Postseason Awards

BEACON FALLS, Conn. — For the first time in franchise history, You’ve Been Chopped earned the Bobcats4Ever Fantasy Football League championship by defeating league newcomer Mealz on Wheelz last month to conclude the Bobcats4Ever Playoffs.

You’ve Been Chopped owner Andrew Fletcher joins MIII-LES … YOU SUCK! owner Jamie Palatini and Small-Town Americans owner Kyle Brennan as the only owners to win the league championship.

Previously, Fletcher was the owner of the Tickle Monsters in the Bobcats4Life Fantasy Football League. Fletcher’s team tied for that league’s championship in its only year of existence in 2012. That league folded shortly thereafter, but its major components regrouped to form the Bobcats4Ever Fantasy Football League.

Fletcher issued a complete release after his team’s championship victory. His statement includes: “This means the world to me, to be honest with you. To be able to overcome the adversity we faced and to prove the doubters wrong, man, words can’t describe this feeling. L’chaim!”

You’ve Been Chopped, the No. 6 seed, upset No. 3 Thanks Obama — the team that recorded the second highest points average in league history at 128.92 per game — in the quarterfinals before knocking off No. 1 seed and defending champions Small-Town Americans. You’ve Been Chopped knocked off Mealz on Wheelz, a first-year franchise, in the championship game.

The postseason concluded an exciting year filled with parity. For the first time in the three-season history of the league, no team reached the 10-win plateau during the regular season.

“This season was proof that the Bobcats4Ever Fantasy Football League continues to grow and improve each year,” Commissioner Kyle Brennan said. “We obviously have our boneheaded owner — I considered ending that word with (s), but it’s pretty clear whom I’m talking about — but the fact that five different owners have now played for a championship in our first three years is rather remarkable.”

VOLUME OF PAYOUTS REACHES RECORD HIGH

Eight of the league’s 12 owners received payouts from the league office Sunday afternoon. It’s the first time that more than three owners have earned money based on their play during one season. Payouts totaled a record $600 and were distributed using Venmo, the league’s official financial partner.

You’ve Been Chopped topped the list with the $336 first prize. Mealz on Wheelz earned $116 (second prize, plus the second-place Neslin Award for the regular season and one weekly Neslin Award), and Thanks Obama! netted $50 (first-place Neslin Award for the regular season and three weekly Neslin Awards).

MIII-LES … YOU SUCK! finished third but gained no Neslin Awards during the regular season, meaning the franchise earned only $48 — $2 less than the entry fee. That drew the ire of Palatini and other owners, leading to its likely inclusion on the next owners’ meeting agenda.

Thanks Obama! and the Small-Town Americans tied for the league-high with three weekly Neslin Awards. Deacon Blues, Calle Ochocinco and Team Spillzzzzzz all earned two apiece. Deacon Blues also earned the third-place Neslin Award for the regular season.

The Neslin Award was instituted this year at the repeated and incessant suggestion of Second Floor Shits owner Len Neslin, a longtime proponent of Ron Popeil. Neslin was one of four owners that received no money this year, joining Fear Boners owner Marc Schwartz, Mr. McGibblets owner Matt Eisenberg and Leapin’ Chancellors owner Alex Birsh.

“How fitting,” Commissioner Brennan said.

RECORD BOOK EXPANDED AND UPDATED

The Bobcats4Ever Chroniclers of History, Other Details, Etc. (CHODE) got right to work after the holiday recess and fully updated the Bobcats4Ever Record Book.

All previous categories were updated, and several new categories were added. New entries include a list of the top three finishers in each season; the average league finish for all franchises with at least two seasons in the league; all-time winning percentage for franchises with at least two seasons in the league; weekly Neslin Award winners; and lifetime earnings.

“I’m very proud of my CHODE,” Commissioner Brennan said. “Once again, it came up big.”

Three records were set during the 2015 season: most points in one week (Thanks Obama!, 184.78), slimmest margin of victory (Small-Town Americans, 0.35) and highest scoring game (Thanks Obama! vs. Fear Boners, 363.75).

MIII-LES … YOU SUCK! stands as the top franchise by average league finish (2.3) and all-time winning percentage (.723). The Small-Town Americans (4.3, .591) and the Fear Boners (5.0, .581) round out the top three.

BASE DRAFT ORDER RELEASED

The 2016 Bobcats4Ever Draft will take place sometime during the late summer. The exact date will be voted upon by ownership earlier in the summer.

The base order of the draft was determined by a combination of the postseason and regular-season standings. The first six picks are a reflection of the reverse order of the standings for teams that did not qualify for the playoffs; the bottom six picks are a reflection of the postseason bracket finish.

As usual, the draft will employ a snaking format. Many draft picks have already been traded, and many more may be traded when the transaction window reopens prior to the draft.

The base order will be: 1) Leapin’ Chancellors; 2) Fear Boners; 3) Mr. McGibblets; 4) Team Spillzzzzzz; 5) Calle Ochocinco; 6) Second Floor Shits; 7) Deacon Blues; 8) Thanks Obama!; 9) Small-Town Americans; 10) MIII-LES … YOU SUCK!; 11) Mealz on Wheelz; 12) You’ve Been Chopped.

“I know fans are already anxious to see how Mr. McGibblets owner Matt Eisenberg screws this up again,” Commissioner Brennan said.

AWARDS TO BE VOTED UPON BY FANS

For the first time in league history, fans will have an opportunity to vote for the inaugural Bobcats4Ever Awards. These awards have been instituted to recognize the very best — and very worst — of what fans saw in the league over the past season.

“We have the best fan base in fantasy sports, so we needed to include them in what will become an annual tradition,” Commissioner Brennan said. “The League Office doesn’t think other leagues properly recognize the worst that was on display, so we’re going to embrace that challenge.”

Voting will be open on the league’s official website, b4effl.kylebrennan.net, until the end of the week. Winners will receive pride, or lack thereof.
